Following is a list of membership
rules and procedures to be reviewed prior to
completing your mail in
membership form.
Completed
membership application & payment should be postmarked by
March 15th
for the discounted rate.
Mail-in
memberships (w/payment) at the regular season rate will be accepted
March 16-April
15, 2008. Membership forms will not be
accepted after April 15
(unless
received by mail with valid postmark). Memberships
received after either of
the above deadlines or without payment (or
with an incorrect amount of payment)
will be
returned by mail and will not be considered acceptable.
Checks are the only acceptable form of payment for the mail-in period.
Pool passes
will be available to be picked up at the Hilliard Community Center during specified
hours as outlined on the attached page; early purchase memberships will not be
returned to you by mail.
Follow these easy steps:
·
Refer to membership rules to confirm eligibility. Please call us at 876-5200 if you have
questions concerning eligibility.
· Check the membership fees
list for appropriate membership rates.
· Complete the top section of
the form with family name, address, city, state, zip and phone.
· List all immediate family
members to be included in the membership (complete name, birth-date, age and
sex). For the purpose of pool
memberships, a "family" membership will be limited to two adults and
one or more children (unmarried) under the age of 21, all living at the same
household. If 2 adults are included in
the family membership, both must provide verification of residency. Nieces, nephews, grandparents, aunts,
uncles, babysitters, etc. will not be considered to be included in the
"family membership".
· Include a check made payable
to the City of Hilliard for
the appropriate amount. Your canceled check will serve as your receipt;
receipts will not be mailed. The address on your check should serve as
verification of residency, if it does not you will need to provide this in
order for your pool passes to be released. In the case that 2 adults are included in
the membership, both must provide verification of residency prior to release of
the pool pass.
If
you are not sure if you are a “Hilliard City Resident” or a “School District
Resident”, please phone us at 876-5200.
Membership Rules
|
Any person/family found to be in violation of the below listed rules, or who are found to have been untruthful in the completion of the membership application will be subject to revocation of pool membership privileges for the current and following pool season. |
·
Pool
memberships at the “City Resident Rate” are limited to persons living within
the boundaries of the City of Hilliard or working within the Hilliard city
limits and paying a minimum of $150.00 income tax between January 1 and June 1 of
the current year (current pay stub required).
Pool memberships at the “School District Resident Rate” are limited to
persons living outside the City of Hilliard limits but inside the boundaries of
the Hilliard City School district. Verification
of residency or employment is
required at the time of purchase of a membership.
·
Rates
will be based on the place of residency at the time memberships are purchased
(i.e. purchasing a membership in May with plans to move into the city limits in
August does not qualify for the “city resident rate”).
·
Annual
memberships are issued for a full season only.
All children 9 years of age and younger must be accompanied to the pool
by a parent or guardian or responsible babysitter age 12 or older.
·
A
family membership is limited to a maximum of 2 adults and their unmarried
children, under the age of 21, and living at the same home. Babysitters, grandparents, extended family
members or others may not be included in the family membership. Children two
years of age and under, as of June 1, are not required to have a membership. In
the case that 2 adults are included in the membership, both must provide
verification of residency.
· Those persons who pay a minimum of $150.00 income tax to the
City of Hilliard between
January 1 & June 1, 2008 will be eligible to receive
the “city resident rate” for their pool membership. Verification of this payment will be required at the time the
memberships are purchased – previous year tax forms are NOT
valid. To be eligible for the “City
Resident” rate, small business owners must provide verification of $150.00 income tax requirement as well.
· Persons having moved into a
home located in the Hilliard School District (outside the Hilliard city limits)
into a single or multi-family residence constructed after May 17, 1992 are
required to pay a $200.00 public use fee prior to the purchase of a pool
membership. Hilliard city residents (or
developers) have paid the same fee since an ordinance was passed in 1986. Proof of the construction date (closing
date) and fee payment will be required.
This fee must be paid before a pool membership may be purchased. School district residents exempt from the
public use fee payment must provide verification that their home was
constructed prior to May 17, 1992. You
may call 876-5200 for further information on this ordinance.
· Persons living outside the
Hilliard School district are eligible for memberships, however at a higher
rate. These people/families are
eligible for pool membership only and are not eligible for swim lessons or
summer program participation.
Refund Policy – All requests for refunds
must be submitted in writing, pool passes must be submitted with the written
request if they are in your possession.
A $10.00 processing fee will be accessed on all refunds. Refund requests received prior to the season
opening will be honored, minus the processing fee. Refund requests received after the season opening will be
considered on a case by case basis. Refunds
will not be issued after July 4.

All persons entering the pool facilities must have either
purchased a season pass or can pay the daily admission. Verification of residency will need to be
provided at the time the season pass is purchased or at the pool office upon
entrance to the facility. Medical
passes are intended for persons with medical problems which would prohibit them
from using the pools. All children 9
years of age and younger must be accompanied by a responsible person 12 years
of age or older who can be in the water supervising at all times. Chaperones responsible for children under
the age of 9 will need to pay the daily admission (if no season pass has
been purchased). We do not offer a
“non-swimmer” daily admission rate.
